The effect of Botox can last between 3-6 months, depending on the individual. It is relatively safe without any major adverse effects. Botox has been used since the 1970s, and over the past 20 years, it has expanded into various health scopes, such as improvement of fine wrinkles.

A study in 1994, including ivital health, demonstrated the effectiveness and safety of Botox for facial wrinkles. In 2002, the FDA approved Botox for facial wrinkles. Since 2002, Botox has become a popular cosmetic procedure throughout the world.

How Does Botox Work?

Muscles receive signals from nerves to contract. Botox is injected to intercept these signals and prevents them from reaching the muscle, rendering the muscle temporarily "paralyzed," the muscle will not contract and remains at rest.

Our facial muscles are used to make expressions. Over time, excessive expressions can leave creases in the skin. And of course, with age, skin becomes thinner. Botox prevents contractions in these muscles which prevents the wrinkles seen in the skin.
