Botox

  • What should I do prior to a Botox treatment?

To minimize bruising, one week before Botox injections and dermal fillers, stop taking aspirin, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, Fish/Flax seed oil/Omega 3’s, Ginko, Ginseng, Garlic, Vitamin E, A.

Avoid drinking alcohol a few days before your treatment.

  • When will I see results after Botox treatment?

You will notice drastic improvement in facial muscles as early as 36 hours following Botox treatment. Maximum effects will be observed at 12 days following Botox injection.

  • What should I not do after Botox treatment?

    - Do not apply an icepack or massage the injection sites. Any remaining dry bloodspots should be gently wiped off with ice water on a cotton swab in sweeping motions away from your eye.

     - Try to sleep on your back the first night following Botox treatment so that you avoid compressing the facial areas injected with Botox. Similarly, avoid pressing over the areas treated with Botox immediately after treatment. Compression of any sort, will result in the Botox migrating from the area injected, and consequently, not acting on the desired muscle. Also, avoid lying down for about 4 hours or until bedtime the day of Botox injection.

     - Avoid exercise for 24 hours after the Botox injections.

  • How long does Botox last?

Results last for about 3-6 months depending on how quickly the body metabolizes the Botox.

Fillers

  • What should I not do prior to treatment?

To minimize bruising, one week before injections Botox injections and dermal fillers, stop taking aspirin, NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, Fish/Flax seed oil/Omega 3’s, Ginko, Ginseng, Garlic, Vitamin E, A.

Avoid drinking alcohol a few days before your treatment and 24 hours after treatment.

  • Are dermal fillers painful?

Temporary, minimal to moderate swelling may be expected related to the area treated and the product used.

It may be normal to experience some tenderness at the treatment site that can last for a few hours or, at times, a couple of days.

It may be normal to feel a “firmness” in your treated area for the first few days after treatment. This depends upon the area treated and product used. Over time, the areas should soften and “settle”, leaving you with a soft, natural

looking result. You may experience this firmness again in extremely cold temperatures.

  • What should I do after dermal filler placement?

    - Apply cool compresses to the area/s treated as this helps reduce swelling and the potential for bruising (avoid pressure and direct ice/frozen packs directly on the skin).

    - DO NOT MOVE, RUB OR MASSAGE the treated area/s today to avoid moving the fillers from their ideal locations.

    - Avoid excessive movement of the treated area/s for the first few hours and up to 2-3 days.

    - Avoid exercise during the day of treatment, before and after.

    - Avoid alcohol for 12-24 hours after treatment.

  • When I can get more treatments in the same area?
